  Lotions
Why should you use lotions?

To get a better tan and to eliminate some of the damage that the UV rays can do to the skin.

Keeps you from throwing money away…Not using a tanning lotion is like throwing part of the money you spend on the tanning session out the window.

It is like putting cheap gas in your car instead of expensive gas.  You have paid a lot for that car and you want to make sure that it will last as long as possible and run its best.  The same can be said for paying for a visit and not using a lotion.  It will not last as long or look as good and you will not be getting your money’s worth.

Tanning Facts

Dry skin reflects up to 40% of your UV tanning rays. Using one of our premier tanning lotions can boost your color 40-70%.

Using tanning lotion will cause a darker, faster and longer lasting tan.

Dry skin is not healthy skin and the healthier your skin the better it will tan.

Everyone can only get so dark, but you can try a different bed or stronger lotion to get over the plateau.

Types of Lotions
Accelerator

Who should use it?
This is a great lotion for someone just starting to tan or who does not like bronzers or tingles.

What makes it different from other types of lotions? It is important to make sure that the skin is always moist, and accelerators will do that. They also contain ingredients that will ensure the skin tans easily.

How does it work? Does not contain a tingle or bronzer.  It moisturizes the skin, making it more susceptible to receiving UV rays.

Bronzer

Who should use it? This is a great step 2 lotion for someone who has hit a plateau with an accelerator or who is using a bronzing bed.

What makes it different from other types of lotions? Bronzers can contain a cosmetic bronzer, DHA (a time-released bronzer), or both.  A cosmetic bronzer gives immediate color that will wash off in the shower.  Some bronzers contain DHA, a time released bronzer that will come out in the skin a couple hours after tanning and last much longer on the skin. (Those who use this type of lotion should wait 2 hours to bathe.)   The darker the stain the better a base tan needs to be or it can cause streaking on your skin.  Be sure to wash your hands after tanning with a bronzer cosmetic.

How does it work?  The cosmetic bronzer gives immediate color but will wash off quickly.  DHA, the time-released bronzer, will cause the skin to gradually get darker and last longer.

Tingle

Who should use it? Tingle is for the experienced tanner who has a good base tan.  Works very well in UVB beds.

What makes it different from other types of lotion? Tingle causes the melanin to move up to the top layer of the skin, hitting the air and causing it to oxidize faster.  However, this process does cause a tingling sensation or a feeling like your skin is itching and can last up to an hour after tanning.  This can be transferred by touch to someone else.

How does it work?  A tingle causing the melanin in the skin to rise to the top layer of skin causing it to hit oxygen in the air.  This causes it to oxidize faster, thus speeding up the tanning process.  This is what causes the reddening and the itching.  Once the melanin goes back down, the reddening subsides, along with the tingling.

Tingle plus Bronzer

Who should use it? This is for advanced tanners and will work great in any bed.

What makes it different from other types of lotions? This lotion contains the best of both worlds.  It has the tingle to oxidize the skin faster, along with the DHA and cosmetic bronzers.

How does it work?  It combines what tingles and bronzers do, but in the same lotion, causing oxidation to occur and one or both types of bronzers.

Facial lotion

Who should use it?  Anyone can use this lotion.  Good for people who are concerned about the damage that tanning can do to sensitive facial skin.  Great for people who have difficulty tanning their face.

What makes it different from other types of lotions? The face is the most difficult area to tan for most people since it is exposed to the sun the most.  It is made specifically for the different skin on the face to protect it against the effect that UV rays can have on the skin and will allow the face to tan better and faster.  It is geared more towards skin care.

How does it work?  It contains alpha-hydroxy, which eliminates fine lines and wrinkles and has a chemical makeup that is more suited for the face.

After-tanning moisturizer

Who should use it? Every tanner should use each time that they bathe.

What makes it different from other types of lotions? It is made to replenish the skin of nutrients that the tanning process removes.  Contains ingredients that make the tan last longer and look better.

How does it work?  By moisturizing your skin, you are doing the opposite of an exfoliater.  Therefore, you are keeping your tanned skin on your body.
